Mogul runs for the bump skier, tree skiing for the more experienced, above tree line with open bowls with both intermediate and expert terrain.

Colorado Ski Resorts for the visitor flying into Denver International Airport or the Colorado local living on the front range are within an hour and half to two hours and include Copper Mountain right off I-70. As a Colorado ski resort Copper is self-contained with great skiing and snowboarding and terrain that are naturally laid out separating the beginner, intermediate and the expert. The village has wonderful restaurants, shopping and numerous options for lodging from the budget conscious to luxury. Copper Mountain is also only 10 minutes from the mountain town of Frisco, a mountain community with a plethora of restaurants, shopping and lodging choices.

Breckenridge, Mountain

Breckenridge ski resort only 9 miles off I-70 is in the village of Breckenridge known as the Kingdom of Breckenridge. This Colorado ski resort has it all 5 mountains to ski or ride from peak 6 to peak 10. The mountain has not only a T-bar to access above tree line skiing or riding but lift service as well to black diamond and double diamond terrain. The Breckenridge ski resort has a great ski school for the kids and beginner skier or snowboarder. The 5 mountains provide plenty of terrain for all abilities with on mountain restaurants. The gondola will take you back into town where you will find shopping, restaurants from family to gourmet and a night life for the party goer.

Keystone, Colorado at night

The next Colorado ski resort is Keystone, a self-contained village with plenty of shops, lodging and a choice of restaurants from family to eloquent dining. Keystone has a beautiful mountain ambience with the lifts right there. The mountain is family friendly with numerous groomed trails and for the more adventurous skier or rider the outback has great tree skiing, steep groomed trails and for bump skiing head over to north peak.

Arapahoe Basin Ski Resort

Up the road from Keystone is Arapahoe Basin known as A-basin. The Basin is just that a mountain for skiers and snowboarders, no fancy resort. A-basin is above tree line and for the most part the terrain is for the intermediate to the advanced expert with parking right at the base.

The fifth Colorado ski resort and the most well-known is Vail. Vail is known for its back bowls with expansive skiing or snowboarding as far as the eye can see. Groomed runs to the infamous untracked powder. This Colorado ski resort is so massive it would be impossible to ski or ride it all in one vacation. Beginner to intermediate to expert and beyond groomed to powder, trees to bumps to open bowls. Vail village is a pedestrian friendly village, a must visit or vacation. Vail is a unique experience.
